About

This website is a collaborative project of Comparative History 292, built in the spring quarter of 2018.

It forms part of a larger project to elicit, preserve, and retell particular episodes of grass-roots citizen diplomacy, peace activism, and cultural exchange between the Pacific Northwest and the Soviet Union during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

It is intended to be a living site, which will continue to expand over time to include more tales from this fascinating slice of Cold War history.
