Success of Accent

Ultimately, Accent's actions were not misguided -- in fact, these exchanges were extremely positive for both the visitors and the hosts. On the U.S. side, Accent received extremely positive press, and hosts and individuals had great times together, many hosts hoping to invite the visitors back into their homes again after a visit came to conclusion. Equivalently, when Accent sent U.S. teachers to the nations that made up the Soviet Union, these teachers recounted their love and admiration for the people they encountered on their trips, often speaking of their receiving families' generosity and openness.
