Hardships

The chorus faced many hardships during the period of the Cold War, such as raising money for their trips and the fear of making contact with people who were labeled as their enemies. Upon the groups arrival to the Soviet union they had no concert dates and were skeptical on how they were going to sing without having any concert dates. During a time in the Cold War when nuclear war was imminent and many people belived that their city could be blown away at any moment, the peace chorus streched their arms out to people who were labeled as enemies in hopes to ease down tensions and build relationships. This group wasn't a goverment backed group, these members acted on their own motives for peace, they had to raise money for their trip by fundraising. During the groups time in the Soviet Union they were fearful how the citizens would percive them because after all they were travelling to countries which the United States was at war with.
